Kiragi was born to Takumi, second prince of Hoshido, and Lea, second princess of Nohr, during the midst of the war between the two countries. While he spent a year in the care of his mother, he was eventually sent off to live in a snowy Deeprealm— a pocket dimension where time flows erratically. Under his caretakers' watchful eye, he was given as much of an education as they could give him, considering Kiragi's profiency at sneaking off to hunt.

In time, he became a prodigious archer and hunter, able to take down bears with a single arrow, and more often than not provided meals for himself and his caretakers. His father only visited twice, and his mother once, and even from a young age he had begun to idolize them, although he knew so little about them aside from stories of bravado and war. Eventually, he grew tired of the cold and the snowcapped trees, and he ran away from his Realm to reunite with his estranged father and find his mother.

Character

Kiragi seems an incredibly bubbly and caring person at the surface, loving nothing more than his family, his friends, and the forest. He can never say 'no' to a request, and when he isn't hunting, he's usually fulfilling one favor or another for someone. He loves the attention and the praise, thriving off of it due to a secluded childhood, and will gladly put himself in harm's way to make someone happy. However, this rides on the heels of intense anxiety due to the world around him, and he often finds himself needing to retreat to his treehouse to calm himself.

He's talented, and he knows it, often enjoying showing off his skill to those around him. If you're hanging out with him, you can undoubtedly expect to find him humblebragging in one manner or another, whether he's explaining a dressing technique for the unfortunate animal becoming the night's dinner, or showing off his skill with a bow and arrow. His proficiency in archery is seemingly unmatched: his preferred method of slaughter is a single arrow between the eyes, and he's more than capable of splitting an arrow in two. Combined with his innate ability to sense the auras of those around him— a manifestation of the magical potential inherited from his mother— there surely isn't a creature Kiragi can't take down.

In addition to this, he's somewhat well-versed on Nohrian customs as well, thanks to the books his mother left for him.. and his caretakers' intermediate knowledge of the Nohrian language and alphabet. While he's nowhere near fluent, he can read and construct basic sentences and phrases in the language. He still considers himself Hoshidan at heart, though.

Tidbits

• Kiragi's two favorite bows are a Killer Bow nicknamed 'Fuu-chan', after the Fujin Yumi, and the Shining Bow 'Eternal Sunshine Vessel', as Ophelia named it.
• He also has a stuffed bear named 'Wa-Wa', gifted to him by Ophelia.
• He has minor obsessive-compulsive tendencies, which becomes especially noticeable in his hunting rituals, from the arrow between the eyes to the meticulous care he gives his weapons. Along with this is comorbid pica, leading to Kiragi's frequent consumption of lavender soap.
